  • There has been a creation of a new regulation that is related to the installation of electrical charging points- this regulation is called S of the Building Regulations. This new regulations is helping the UK Government to reach its 2025 Future Homes Standard and Future Building Standard. The Government is also encouraging home charging based on the benefits of:

    • Faster Charging

    • Save on Electricity Costs With an EV-Friendly Tariff
    • Hassle-Free

It applies to any new projects after June 2022. The new regulation requires you to install electrical charging points for all new dwellings that you create. Each charging point must also be a minimum of 7kw.

The UK Government has created a grant fund so please use the links below to see if you qualify.

There are some caveats. If the cost is more than £3500 per charging unit then you could be excepted. There could be an exception for uncovered vs covered spaces as the electrical charging points can be seen as a fire hazard. Also this new regulations applies to the creation of more than 10 dwellings.
