Over the past few weeks I have finally made headway with the utility companies. United Utility have signed off the work at Wallgate, Wigan so they have now booked in their work to be carried out. Once complete this leaves us to carry out some tests to get the whole water upgrade completed. We also have made huge progress with ENW who have again signed off our electrical work and we are waiting on a date to get our chosen utility supplier to install the 5 new meters.
We have secured a letting agent who is ready to take on the flats when finished. In mid-September I will invite the agent to the flats and decide on how best to market the flats. They are very positive that these flats will fly off the shelf which is the news we want to hear.
We are still actively looking at investing into a new project. I have seen a house which could have been a potential HMO conversion in Medway Kent but the room dimensions do not work. But it was great to network with the estate agent and see how the area has developed since our last purchase in Medway a few years ago. I have received 2 replies to my 'old fashion' posted letters which is a great hit rate - I only sent 10 letters. The stand out conversation was with someone from Wigan who has a development 1 road from Wallgate and he may have a project that could be of interest to us. But if this does not work out, it is great to have a new contact in Wigan.
It has been a hugely successful month and in my next blog I hope to share the news that the 5 Wallgate flats are complete!
